Sam and the Serpin-Snake
Author(s):
Karen Boettcher-tate
King Snootbottom is the most selfish man in the world. The peasants are starving, but neither he, nor his wife, nor his two repulsive daughters, Matilda and Brunhilda, care. Only his son, Prince Sam, a likable nerd, is interested in helping the peasants. Suddenly, Hilda the Hag appears, and tells the King he must change his ways -- OR ELSE! The King refuses, so Hilda calls up a pack of evil little critters, the Gloombas, who devour all the King possesses. The King repents, but it is too late. To break the spell, someone must journey to the Liverwurst Mountains and steal a scale from the most horrible creature alive -- Snort, the Serpin-Snake... and only nerdy little Sam volunteers. The result is a whimsical romp with a gentle message about what is really important in life.
